Introduction - Top
Corrosionsource.com is pleased to announce its upcoming global web-based technical conference, eCorr/2000 – Corrosion Control for the Future. This conference will be an international event focusing on the latest corrosion research and corrosion control technologies that can be applied to increase system reliability and reduce cost. eCorr/2000 will be organized and conducted, in its entirety, on the world wide web. This unique conference seeks to leverage the significant benefits that the internet brings to easily and efficiently link corrosion researchers, specialists and practitioners with others seeking solutions to materials and corrosion problems on a global basis. It will address problems and new solutions related to industrial applications in petroleum and chemical processing, transportation, civil infrastructure, pipelines, electric power, water handling and treatment, marine service, uses of advanced materials and biomedical engineering.
eCorr/2000 will commence in September 2000 using state-of-the-art web technologies. It will be located at a dedicated website at: http://www.corrosionsource.com/CS2000. Conference details will be posted on this site as they become available.

Deadlines for the Technical Paper Program - Top
eCorr/2000 is a web-based conference. Meaning, we do not have to conform to the often rigid and sometimes difficult requirements that constrain conventional conferences. That means you are invited to present your abstracts and papers even as the conference commences on September 1, 2000 and well after that, if necessary.
Earlier on this page, deadlines were posted, simply as a motivational tool for potential authors to generate abstracts and papers in time for the conference commencement. Now, we are entering the period where we will accommodate all relevant ideas, input and technical insights. Thank you for your interest in eCorr/2000, and feel free to send us your abstracts.

Technical
Program Features - Top
In addition to the Technical Paper Program,
eCorr/2000 will include other special events
that utilize the interactive, global framework provided by
the Internet. These will include:
· Interactive
Discussion Forums Each technical paper
session will feature a continuous discussion forum that
will archive discussions and interactions between
conference attendees from around the world.
· Online
Chat Sessions All registered attendees and
authors will be able to participate in live chat events
that are expected to include streaming video and audio
from authors and leading corrosion experts.
· Keynote
and Plenary Sessions Special presentations
will be made by noted corrosion and materials specialists
and luminaries.
· On-line
Atmospheric Corrosion Map and Prediction Tool
A global atmospheric corrosion map will be
developed that will allow researchers and specialists to
interactively post and archive their data. The data will
be use to produce an on-line corrosion prediction tool
that can be accessed worldwide.
Virtual Trade Exhibition - Top
eCorr/2000 will feature an Online
Corrosion and Materials Exhibition featuring event
sponsors and exhibitors. The exhibition will feature
information from consultants, companies and organizations
that provide a variety of services, materials, chemical,
equipment and software that give solutions to corrosion and
materials problems. Exploiting the tremendous benefits of the
Internet in mixing multimedia and content, the exhibition
will provide hyper-links to information from other web sites
and information pages from around the world. This will
globally link purveyors of products and services with the
people that need solutions to materials and corrosion
problems. It will also be possible for exhibitors to provide
online demonstrations with live streaming audio and video.
