Dr. Kane is currently president and founder of InterCorr International, Inc. (formerly CLI International,Inc.) and an internationally recognized metallurgy/materials and corrosion consultant. He has worked with a variety of major end-user companies, equipment manufacturers, materials suppliers and governmental agencies on materials specifications, field corrosion monitoring, laboratory testing and failure analysis. Dr. Kane has dealt extensively with the in-service performance of materials, the development of corrosion test methods, and simulation of corrosive service environments in the laboratory some involving high temperatures and pressures. He is a recognized expert on materials selection for prevention of corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement and stress corrosion cracking. His recent work has emphasized evaluation and specifications for prevention of degradation phenomenon (i.e., hydrogen damage, corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, thermo-mechanical effects and chemical attack) in advanced materials such as thermo mechanical controlled processed (TMCP) steels, and high alloy austenitic stainless steels, nickel, aluminum and titanium alloys, composites and ceramics.
