Stress Corrosion Cracking Tests for Carbon Steels in Amine Environments


Several poly-amine blends were used to evaluate SCC of welded ASTM A516 Grade 70 carbon steel specimens tested at 295 F at 17 psig. Blend sample numbers 1,2 and 3 did not produce stress corrosion cracking under the conditions tested, where as blend no. 4 produced mild SCC.
