The InterCorr/96 sponsors will form a Virtual Trade Show for attendees, visitors and presenters that will access the InterCorr/96 Web Site. The Virtual Trade Show will provide information on capabilities, services and products related to corrosion control, materials technology, corrosion testing, field/in-plant monitoring and educational opportunities offered by Sponsor companies.
InterCorr/96 will center on the theme "Assessment and Prediction of Corrosion, Pitting, Crevice Attack and Stress Corrosion" and will focus on the use of environmental and material parameters for the prediction of corrosion performance. InterCorr/96 will be the first corrosion conference where the technical papers will be presented, published and archived on the Internet. This will provide for global access of the papers on the InterCorr/96 Internet Web Site.
The InterCorr/96 Web Site will be a major crossroads on
the Information Superhighway for the corrosion and materials communities.
Currently, this site can be accessed to obtain further information
on the conference theme and format, the make-up of the International
Technical Advisory Board and the Call for Papers.
The technical papers will be posted on the web site starting June 1996. Discussion between readers and authors will be arranged via e-mail. In September, InterCorr/96 will arrange for on-line, multiparty discussions of papers of high reader interest as determined by an attendee survey.
The papers presented at InterCorr/96 will focus on the use of metallurgical, processing and service parameters using laboratory and/or field data to assess severity of corrosion and the resistance of metals and alloys to various forms of corrosive degradation (i.e. weight loss corrosion, pitting, crevice attack and stress corrosion cracking). Emphasis will be given to:
Sessions will also highlight the results of research and engineering studies into structure /property relationships involving variables such as composition, heat treatment, cold working of aluminum, copper, iron, nickel and titanium based materials that can be used in making predictive assessment of corrosion resistance. Case study presentations are also sought providing examples in industrial applications including aerospace, petroleum, infrastructure, marine, chemical processing and transportation.
Most importantly, InterCorr/96 sponsors will help to underwrite
this event and provide the resources required to establish this
first of its kind technical event. Furthermore,
they will allow InterCorr/96 to provide unlimited worldwide
access to all conference attendees and trade show visitors. The
sponsorship fee is ONLY US$100.00 per month for up to six months(3 month minimum).
The fee can be paid by lump sum or monthly installment by check
written on a U.S. bank, wire transfer or major credit card. Further sponsorship
fee information is available from Ms Cuellar, InterCorr/96Administrator.
