: How can a virtual publication be used (cited) in an article
: since it is as you said "a type of floating crap game".
: "it will be difficult to know when we are "done"!

This is an excellent point, and more than just for citing purposes!
Can I submit my piece as a "publication" on my CV, or even more significant,
for tenure and promotion purposes? (I am actually no longert concerned with the latter!)

For those submissions which are "refereed", and some form of that is being done with this Conference,
there would be some justification for citing and submitting for promotion etc. purposes.

But how is a Promotions Committee going to check out the reference if the "service provider" removes
the work when deemed to be no longer current or whatever.

I suspect it will take a while for academia to recognise this type of "publication"!! Young authors, beware!
