What types of coatings were used to coat the carbon-carbon composites?
What were the resins used in the carbon-carbon composites? What type of weave was used?
Did one type of coating-resin behave differently than others?

An experiment might be designed to determine the best type of coating for a particular resin used in the composite.
Also, the type of weave used might also effect the adherence.
