: What types of coatings were used to coat the carbon-carbon composites?
: What were the resins used in the carbon-carbon composites? What type of weave was used?
: Did one type of coating-resin behave differently than others?

: An experiment might be designed to determine the best type of coating for a particular resin used in the composite.
: Also, the type of weave used might also effect the adherence.

The theme of the paper was to highlight the test method and apparatus necessary to conduct tests where environmental degradation and thermal gradients interact. The materials and coatings were proprietary. The coatings were mainly multilayer types with various combinations silicon mitride and carbide and glassy inhibitors.
