During the first year of a corrosion surveillance program, sets of CLIMAT test coupons were located at three different sites on the campus of the Royal Military College of Canada. The RMC campus is located on a small peninsula which extends into one of the Great Lakes, lake Ontario, at the mouth of the St. Lawrence River. A campus map below marks the locations of the initial test coupons. These coupons were exposed for 90 days between Jan. 15, 1997 - April 15, 1997 and during an equivalent period during the summer of 1997.

From the top of the map to the bottom the coupons are located at:
Highway #2 roadside | |
On the roof of RMC building | |
Point Frederick |
Additional coupons were exposed to the lab environment to provide a low corrosivity standard to compare with the other coupons.
