During the second year of a corrosion surveillance program, sets CLIMAT coupons were deployed at ten exposure locations, each with three units, at RMC during the winter of 1998 (Jan. 7 to Mar. 7, 1998) as shown in the following Figure. The RMC campus is located on a small peninsula which extends into one of the Great Lakes, lake Ontario, at the mouth of the St. Lawrence River.

Each unit was placed about 2 m above the ground except for the set placed on the Sawyer roof (S) and on the pedestrian bridge over the highway (HB). The mass loss results and a plot of the corrosivity by the road are shown here and the seasonal patterns of wind frequency distribution at the nearest airport during 1997 are shown in pie charts.
