
Interestingly, the wind direction patterns are different from season to season. During the winter, winds from the northwest direction are almost twice as likely to occur as from the southeast direction. Thus the CLIMAT units on the southeast side were predominantly on the lee side of the salt aerosol source, the highway, and therefore displayed higher corrosion rates.
