Time of wetness in a rural environment

The fractional daily Time-Of-Wetness as calculated from data collected at CFB Trenton over twenty years is shown in the above graph. There is a striking difference between the August and February calculations. For the entire month of February the TOW enters the T3 region only once indicating that corrosion is likely over a relatively short time-frame during this month. There is little variation between the early morning and the midday hours. During August there is significant variation over the course of a day with much of the morning and evening spent in the more severe T4 and T5 categories. Aircraft flying during the day encounter a much less severe environment than those flying at night.
