CFB Esquimalt

Sets of CLIMAT coupons were placed besides the exposure rack at CFB Esquimalt and sampled on a monthly basis.

By looking at these results one has to conclude that the Winter months are the most corrosive months in this particular marine environment. The same conclusion can be drawn by looking at the results obtained on the East Coast during the past year. An important conclusion from this work is that the time of wetness (TOW), which is much higher in the Summer months at these locations, does not have much relation to the corrosivity of such environments contrary to the ISO 9223 ranking scheme.
