The map describing corrosion patterns in India shows macroscopic differences between areas, with coastal regions being the most severe. The map is adapted from work we were led to believe was carried out out by the Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI) in the early 1970s. However, this needs to be confirmed. If you can confirm this statement or give us a more precise reference, please send our Chief Engineer a little note.
We recently asked a dear friend to give us his personal opinion of these contours and the present situation in India. Here is how Gautam Banerjee replied to our request.
