Presents information on the general behaviour of nickel-containing alloys in pure phosphoric acid solutions, principally under laboratory conditions. Corrosion data are given for numerous metals and alloys following test exposures under actual operating conditions at plants manufacturing phosphoric acid by both the wet process and the electric furnace process. Reports test data for the corrosion resistance of metals and alloys in plants using phosphoric acid to produce phosphate fertilizers of the solid, liquid mixed, granular-mixed, slurry types. Materials of construction have been evaluated for handling pickling and metal treating solutions, phosphoric acid catalysts, and pH-control applications by the chemical industry.
